Frequently Asked Questions

Where did you train?
We all trained with different certifying bodies. Though, we all have the same outlook and and philosophy for our clients which is why we work together.
What is your philosophy?
We want all women and their families to have as much access to education, options, and all the loving support they deserve while going through this momentousness life change. Be it first or fifth time. We want mothers to know they have a voice, and it deserves to be heard and respected, and to guide them to release the confidence they already have within themselves to birth their babies how they want.
How much do Doulas cost?
Our packages vary, from 600$ to 1000$. We offering sliding scales, payment plans, and trades as we believe that all women should have access to the care and compassion of a doula, should they want it.
Can I use a doula, even if I have other support like a husband/mother/sister/friend?
Yes! You can. As doulas, we support the birthing woman and her team as a whole. We aren't there to take anyones place, we are there to enhance the experience for all those involved.
When will we meet our Doula?
When you are researching for a doula and find us, you will contact us via our Contact tab or email, and we will set up an initial free consultation so you are able to meet us. From there, should you choose to hire us, we will book your prenatal or postpartum visits.
Will you be my advocate?
As doulas, we do not make decisions for you or tell you what to do. We provide unbiased evidence based information to you so that you are able to make the best choice for yourself and family.
Can I call with questions or concerns?
Absolutely. From the time you hire us, as your doula, you have access to us via calling, text, or email.
When will you join me, when I am in labour?
During early labor, we will support you by phone when you have notified us that labour seems imminnet. We do our job best during active labour, which is when contractions get more intense. Generally 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long. We can meet you at home or at the hospital.
Will we see you, after the birth?
Yes. Depending on the package you went with, you will see your doula once or twice, after you are settled at home.
Do you attend Hospital and home births?
Yes. We attended Hospital and home births, regardless of your care provider.  We work directly with many of the OBs and Midwives, such at Kalamalaka Midwives, Born Naturally Midwifery, and Vernon Midwifery. We do not attend home births or unassisted childbirths. We currently attend births at:
- Vernon Jubilee Hospital
- Shuswap Lake General Hospital
- Queen Victoria Hospital
- Royal Inland Hospital

Do you have references?
If you check out our Kind Words page, you can see what a few of our clients have said. If you want to speak to a past client, directly, we can arrange that for you.
